Sports Day tomorrow, which also happens to be National Compliment Day (in Australia, but if Earth Hour could go global, why not this?). Blue House please don't let me down. God knows how much heart and soul i put into this team, including my primary school years so please, let's all try our very best to conquer those curves and walk like there's no tomorrow okay? Don't forget the 90 (degree sign) angled arms PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I'm not going to be down there with you guys tomorrow, i'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, so i won't be able to watch over every single one of you but let's pwn this march pass okay? You've all trained super hard this past two months and i couldn't be prouder of all of you. To think, when you started off, it was such a hot mess and at the very last minute (try Monday), all 60+ of you pulled it off! Shows how far all of you -all of us- can go if we push ourselves enough. Most importantly though, especially to the Form 1 noobs, have fun okay? Winning is incredible, but having fun is what it's all about.
Have you ever heard of the saying 'once you go black, you don't go back'? Well, to the Form 1 noobs, once you go Sri Aman Sports Day, you don't say good day! Totally corny but totally true! I remember what a culture shock it was for me during my first Sri Amanian Sports Day. I was as quiet as a mouse, believe it or not. But as the years progressed (more like months actually), i became more comfortable with shouting and cheering at the top of my lungs. This year, the Form 1 noobs are a little harder to break through but i know you guys have the passion in you, especially the fun-sized ones (in harsher words, the short ones). You are always the loudest during kawad training, even beating out some of your other seniors so i know it's in you somewhere. You guys just need to get rid off the blur face and you'll be fine. And again, winning is incredible, but having fun is what it's all about.
Okay guys, you're not likely to read this but i'll just repeat the ground rules again:
- Eat your breakfast. Preferably, a banana.. or three.
- Don't faint please. If you just can't take it anymore, tell a friend beside you or in front of you, and get them to call one of the commanders (Fifi or Ashiqin).
- Arms 90 (degree sign) when marching please! Our biggest problem to date. I hope you remember this, and janganlah be lazy when you're marching. It's only for 30 mins max.
- Listen, listen, listen and be alert. There'll be 3 other houses vying for attention (ie: loud noises) and 3 uniform squads too so please be on your toes at all times. Listen carefully to your commanders and/or the drum.
- Keadaan sedia means keadaan sedia. Don't play with your hair, don't tug on your clothes and don't swish the pom-poms around.
- Fish your voices out. I know Sri Amanians are very loud so please, be loud when you're answering to commands.
- Plain, all blue tshirt please!! This counts as marks too, and it's not that hard to put on the plain blue tshirt instead of the school one or the ones from previous years. Also, remember to wear a plain, no lace or beaded tudungs, and black school shoes okay?
Let's bring it on! :)
Latifahface!
